Let's be real, the most exciting part of getting married for a desi girl is picking out her Trousseau. The reality is that the process is a little harder and not as much fun as you may have dreamed of. But, don't fret; we've got some tips to keep your mind at ease.

#1 Don't shop with an entourage- too many people too many opinions and you end up confused and frustrated. Take your mom, sister or a best friend this will make for stress free shopping and genuine opinions. At the end of the day how you feel about what your wearing is what is most important.

#2 Do your homework & know your budget- It would be a great help if you decide your budget before you start shopping. Make sure to inform the staff about the budget, so that they can show you only the outfits that fall within the range. Consider style and if that works for your venue and weather at the time of your event. While every girl deserves to dream big, make sure to be realistic about what you can afford, so you avoid any kind of frustration. Lastly, While you would be aware of your budget, You might get tempted by the idea of visiting the expensive showrooms just for the trial. But in case you fall in love with a really expensive one there, then it might get quite difficult for you to be happy with the ones that fall in range.

#3 Fitting- Wedding dresses are usually quite heavy, and a bit difficult to handle too. In addition, you will not just sit in that dress on your wedding day. You will have to bend down to touch feet of the elders, stand for those long haul photo sessions, do different things while following a lot of rituals, and what not! So, it is important that the fit of your dress makes you feel comfortable in all the ways. So, make sure you check that.

#4 Undergarments- We were going to add this to the fitting section but because its so important we gave it a # of its own, simply because it will make or break your look! An ill-fitted bra will not only make you uncomfortable, but will also spoil the perfect look of your blouse. Things like, straps coming out from the sides, visible seams on the pads, improper size, etc., can totally ruin your otherwise elegant ensemble.

#5 In the end its your DAY- Finally, if your dress gives you the feeling of being no less than a beautiful princess, go for it. After all, it is your day and your wedding outfit and it should make you feel super pretty and special.
